Using MyEnglishLab (MEL): Student Guide

POLY Languages Institute uses Pearson’s MyEnglishLab (MEL) for digital textbooks and online assignments. Follow these simple steps to get ready for class.

✅ Step 1: Create an Account & Sign In (1 min & 30 secs)

  • Click Pearson to create your account or sign in.
  • If you already have a Pearson account, use the same link to log in.
  • Make sure you can sign in successfully before purchasing your textbook to avoid issues later.

✅ Step 2: Add Your Textbook & Access Materials (1 min & 32 secs)

After purchasing your digital textbook, add it to your MEL account.

  • Check ESL Bookstore to make sure you select the correct textbook and ISBN.
  • Be careful when adding your product—returns can be difficult.
  • Once added, you will be able to access your textbook and course materials.

✅ Step 3: Join Your Teacher’s Course (58 secs)

On the first day of class, your teacher will give you a Course ID (MEL Code).

  • Enter the Course ID (MEL Code) in MEL to join your class.
  • If you miss the first day, your teacher will help you join during your next class.
